The Alley Cats America’s Premiere Doo Wop Group |
Tight harmonies, universal humor, and unbelievable a cappella energy have made THE ALLEY CATS “America's Premier Doo-Wop Group” |
The Alley Cats are a perfect blend of musical talent and comic timing. This years marks their 25th anniversary. Their interaction with audiences combined with their spontaneous humor makes each show refreshing and exciting. The Cats never miss a beat as they bring their own contemporary style to the great songs of the 50s and 60s. Together, their freshness and talent make them truly the Cat’s meow!
Formed while studying music at Fullerton College, The Alley Cats began their musical journey in 1987 as a featured act in Disneyland’s Blast to the Past, a salute to the 1950s. Their long-standing relationship with Disney also took them to New York City, where they were featured during the world premiere of Disney’s animated film, Hercules. Their accomplishments include numerous TV shows, radio jingles, and of live stage performances.
The Alley Cats perform across the country at corporate events, trade shows, major festivals, and performing arts centers. They have shared the stage with notable artists such as Chubby Checker, The Beach Boys, and comedian Jay Leno.
They recorded six albums which showcase their rich harmonies, as well as the energy and humor from their live shows. Their album Cruisin’ won a CARA (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award) for “Best Doo-Wop Song.” Primarily A Cappella calls their third release, Strike 3!, “the best recording we’ve heard of the era’s music.” The Doo-Wop Drive-In LIVE took home two CARAs for “Best Doo-Wop Album” and “Best Doo-Wop Song.” They recorded their first Christmas Album in 2007 and another is in the planning. The recently released Greatest Hits Volume 1 features the best of the best from their previous recordings along with six new arrangements, two blasts from the past and their first ever original song.
Every a cappella performance by The Alley Cats is accompanied only by the sounds of laughter and voices joining in to sing the melodies we all know and love. They have won over audiences nationally as they relate directly to the crowd with lively humor, engaging stories, and audience participation appealing to young and old alike. |
